Premier League Matchday 3 Predictions

Brighton v Manchester United

Brighton have played some decent football so far this season, and were very impressive at Newcastle last weekend. United, on the other hand, were played off the park by Palace in their opening game. The only positive was Donny Van De Beek scoring a debut goal, but apart from that it was a very lacklustre performance. They will get something here, but will have to wait for their first win.

Prediction 1-1

Crystal Palace v Everton

This could turn out to be game of the weekend. Both teams have won their opening 2 games and are scoring a lot of goals. Wilfred Zaha and James Rodriguez are the players to watch in this one, and that could decide who comes out on top.

Prediction 1-2

West Brom v Chelsea

The nicest word I can use to describe the Baggies defence so far is shambolic. 8 goals conceded in their opening 2 games and they are yet to face any of the top 4. That changes this weekend, and Chelsea should be chomping at the bit. Their strikers will be queueing up for goals. I fear for West Brom this could turn into a hammering.

Prediction 0-4

Burnley v Southampton

This is one of those early season games that could turn out being important in a relegation battle. I expect both of these teams to struggle this season, which is why games against each other are much more important. Southampton did OK against Spurs for 45 minutes last week until they were outclassed in the second half.

Prediction 0-0

Sheffield United v Leeds

Leeds are the go-to team for goals this season. They have won and lost a game 4-3 already, but Marcelo Bielsa will not like that. You just can't concede that many in this league. The Blades are usually very strong at the back, but are yet to score or win this season. I think that will change this time though.

Prediction 2-1

Tottenham v Newcastle

The Spurs fixture list at the moment is chaotic, however, they will win this one regardless. They have too much attacking threat for Newcastle, and Sergio Reguillon will add threat with crosses coming into the box. Newcastle will be fine this season, but they will be leaving North London empty handed.

Prediction 2-0

Manchester City v Leicester

City have had a tough start to this season, but after a good win at Wolves last week, I am expecting another one here. Leicester are the very early pace setters but I think their unbeaten start will end at The Etihad. Leicester have started well and should continue that throughout the season, and both teams will fancy a top 4 finish.

Prediction 3-1

West Ham v Wolves

West Ham were by far the better team at the Emirates last week, but a defensive lapse late on cost them a point. That has continued from last season where they dropped a lot of points in games they dominated. Not many teams dominate Wolves, though. This one will be tight, but I fear Wolves' goals could dry up with the sale of Jota to Liverpool.

Prediction 1-1

Fulham v Aston Villa

The one thing Scott Parker needs to sort out at Fulham is their defence. You could have driven a bus through their defence at Leeds last week. Villa, meanwhile, have made a decent start and I fancy them to continue it here. Ollie Watkins from Brentford is a great signing and it is only a matter of time until he gets off the mark.

Prediction 1-2

Liverpool v Arsenal

What a mouth-watering clash this is! Both teams have won both opening games and have scored 6 and 5 goals respectively. Both teams love to attack, and Salah, Mane, Firmino, Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe are just some of the pure class on show. I honestly have no idea what is going to happen. I am confident to predict goals, however. Call me a chicken for sitting on the fence here.

Prediction 3-3
