Premier League Matchday 10 Predictions
Crystal Palace v Newcastle
Both of these teams have been playing some good football since the start of the season but I think the hosts will come out on top here. The Eagles are very attractive to watch this season and are only missing goals to their game. Newcastle tend to be involved in low-scoring games which can go one way or the other.
Prediction 1-0
Brighton v Liverpool
Brighton have been struggling lately but a win against Villa at the weekend has stopped their rot. I would say this is a good time to play the champions but they showed against Leicester that even with 10 first team injuries they can still blow teams away. They will continue to get stronger as more players return from injury.
Prediction 0-3
Manchester City v Burnley
After their defeat against Spurs last weekend this is the perfect game for City to bounce back with a bang. Yes Burnley got their first win of the season on Monday night, but in all honesty they were very lucky to hold on and have Nick Pope to thank. The England keeper will not be able to save the Clarets again at the Etihad.
Prediction 4-0
Everton v Leeds
Everton were very good going forward against Fulham last weekend but looked very shaky at the back. Leeds had the other issue against Arsenal - defended very well but failed to score against 10 men. I have a feeling this will be very tight and very entertaining, with the hosts just edging it.
Prediction 3-2
West Brom v Sheffield United
What a huge game this is. Just 3 and 1 point respectively from 9 games is seriously worrying. The Baggies have shown some fight in games and have played particularly well in the first half of games. Sheffield United really need to get a win to give them some momentum, but I am backing the Baggies for their first win instead.
Prediction 2-1
Southampton v Manchester United
Southampton have to be the surprise package this season so far. Ralph Hassenhuttl has got them well organised, well drilled offensively and playing with confidence. If United could replicate their Champions League form in the Premier League they would be right up there. I am finding it hard to back against Southampton at the moment.
Prediction 2-1
Chelsea v Tottenham
This is the kind of game that should be thoroughly entertaining with lots of goals from lots of high-class footballers. Both teams do still look susceptible at times defensively, but it's the visitors who are stronger in that department. Having said that Chelsea are looking like a complete team more and more each week and a title challenge is definitely on the cards. In terms of this game, I think the Apprentice might overhaul the Special One.
Prediction 2-1
Arsenal v Wolves
The Gunners weren't firing on all cylinders at Elland Road last time out, but defended superbly and with the help of the woodwork were able to get a very decent point. Wolves seem to be picking up in recent weeks, but Arsenal's open-play goal drought of over 8 hours will end eventually.
Prediction 1-1
Leicester v Fulham
On paper this looks like an absolute home banker. The Foxes are playing well and scoring lots of goals. The same can not be said for Fulham who are becoming accustomed to conceding 3 and 4 every week. I fear the same will happen again here, and probably a lot more before they are relegated in May.
Prediction 3-0
West Ham v Aston Villa
Every time Aston Villa are on a good run they lose a game that nobody expects them to. The same can be said of West Ham though, who always seem to perform better against the better sides. I think this is extremely close to call, but the way this season is going, it would not surprise me if the visitors nicked it.
Prediction 1-2
