Premier League Matchday 11 Predictions

Aston Villa v Newcastle postponed due to Covid 19.

Burnley v Everton

The hosts are still really struggling with just a single win from their opening 10 games. Their biggest problem is scoring goals, which is not something that Everton struggle with. Despite some patchy form of late, I still think they will have a good season, and would expect them to win this game.

Prediction 0-2

Manchester City v Fulham

This really does look on paper like a question of how many goals City will score. The game is not played on paper, but Fulham will not shut City out. Their defence is leakier than a sieve at the moment, and just at a time when City are beginning to play freely again. If any of the City strikers are low on confidence, this is the perfect game to change that.

Prediction 5-0

West Ham v Manchester United

The Hammers are playing well this season and had a very impressive win against Aston Villa on Monday evening. United came from 2 goals down to win last weekend at Southampton before controlling the game against PSG, only losing after Fred's red card. I am expecting a decent game here with the visitors just edging it.

Prediction 1-2

Chelsea v Leeds

Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have without doubt been the best attacking force so far this season. Olivier Giroud will be pushing for a start after scoring 4 against Sevilla in midweek. Leeds have been the surprise package up to this point, but it really would be a shock if they took maximum points from the Bridge.

Prediction 2-0

West Brom v Crystal Palace

It was a bitter sweet weekend for West Brom last week - they secured their first win of the season but Fulham also picked up a win. This is the kind of game the Baggies should attack. Palace are dangerous against any opponent, but I worry about their diversity when teams sit deep against them, which I fully expect West Brom to do.

Prediction 1-0

Sheffield United v Leicester

Second season syndrome has well and truly arrived at Brammall Lane. 1 point from a possible 30 and relegation looking likely already. Leicester, meanwhile, will be looking to respond from their defeat against Fulham on Monday night. I would expect the Foxes to win this one, but surely Sheffield United have to perform sooner or later?

Prediction 0-2

Tottenham v Arsenal

On paper, this looks like a very easy game to call, but North London derbies are unique. Form, league position, quality and everything else goes completely out the window. Spurs will be confident with Harry Kane and Son scoring freely again, but Arsenal won't be, and shouldn't be afraid to attack Tottenham. Both these teams are weaker at the back, so if the strikers are on form, this could be a very entertaining derby.

Prediction 2-2

Liverpool v Wolves

Jurgen Klopp was complaining last weekend about the use of VAR, but had his side taken their chances, Brighton's added time penalty wouldn't have affected the result. Wolves have been more miss than hit this campaign, but were on song at the Emirates last time out. This is a big step up though.

Prediction 3-1

Brighton v Southampton

This might not be the biggest rivalry in football, but try telling these teams that. Brighton were worthy of their point against Liverpool last weekend - Danny Welbeck is starting to show the quality we all know he has. The Saints were flying last weekend before losing late on against Manchester United. They have still made a strong start, and that could well continue here.

Prediction 1-2
