Premier League Matchday 15 Predictions

 Leicester v Manchester United

Leicester picked up a great win at Spurs in their last game and played the way they want to play - on the break. United, though, will want to do exactly that. They are the only team to win every away game this season, and they will be full of confidence after scoring 6 last weekend and reaching the Carabao Cup semi-finals in midweek. They might have to settle for a point here.

Prediction 1-1

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

There has been a lot of talk this week about Ross Barkley and how this has to be the season when he shines in the Premier League. He's done OK so far but Villa fans will be wanting more. Palace continue to be an up and down team, but they are usually fairly easy to predict. They win the games you expect and they lose the rest, like this one.

Prediction 2-1

Fulham v Southampton

Fulham's season had started to look upwards with a couple of wins before Christmas, and suddenly they look like they could possibly stay in the league. The Saints have got everything about them - they are solid at the back, they score goals and they play with confidence even when they are losing games. Strange things happen this time of year, but I am backing the away side here.

Prediction 0-2

Arsenal v Chelsea

On paper this looks like an away banker. Mikel Arteta has supposedly been told he has three games to save his job. If that is the case then this is a very tough start. They will be desperately hoping their captain Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang recovers in time from a calf strain. Chelsea, meanwhile, have lost a couple of tight games recently, and I would be surprised if they claimed maximum points here.

Prediction 1-1

Manchester City v Newcastle

Slowly but surely, City are beginning to look like a shadow of their vintage selves. The confidence is returning as well as some of the flair that has been missing. That is bad news for Newcastle who crashed out of the Carabao Cup midweek against Championship side Brentford. That will have increased the pressure on Steve Bruce, and there could be more on him after this game.

Prediction 3-0

Sheffield United v Everton

Chris Wilder keeps saying the Blades have been the better team in games this season. While I appreciate him trying to keep morale up, he needs to be honest, they are winless for a reason. They face an Everton team who are on a great run - victories over Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal in their last three league games. I expect Sheffield United to be added to that list.

Prediction 0-2

Leeds v Burnley

Leeds have been good to watch all season, but they must find another way of playing against the better teams. They were absolutely blown away at Old Trafford last week and the game was over within a quarter of an hour. They will not have the same problem here though against a Burnley side struggling for goals and wins.

Prediction 2-0

West Ham v Brighton

The Hammers will be happy with their season so far. The impressive thing is they have won the games they have needed to such as this. Brighton were desperately unlucky not to beat Sheffield United last weekend, but they will o well to get a result here.

Prediction 2-1

Liverpool v West Brom

This is the worst possible game for Sam Allardyce. After a heavy defeat last weekend in his opening game, he is staring at another one here. Liverpool are a team heading for another league title, albeit this race will be much closer. Pick a number here and Liverpool could score it.

Prediction 5-0

Wolves v Tottenham

Wolves are sitting comfortably in the middle of the table, but that will not be acceptable amongst many Wolves fans. They will be expecting European football, especially considering the quality in their squad. Spurs have had a good few days and are in the Carabao Cup semi-finals against Brentford, but they really need to win a trophy. Despite being the favourites to win this game, Jose Mourinho has come to win silverware, not games of football against Wolves.

Prediction 1-2
