Premier League and FA Cup Predictions

Premier League Fixtures

Fulham v Leeds

After a few weekends where every result seemed to go Fulham's way, last weekend everything went against them. With the two teams directly above them facing each other in this game week, it is vital they capitalise on that. The goals seemed to have dried up for Leeds which has been unusual this season. This should, however, be an open game because Fulham have to attack and Leeds always attack. If it is a high scoring game (the reverse fixture was 4-3) then I expect Leeds to edge it.

Prediction 1-3

Brighton v Newcastle

I personally do not like the phrase 'relegation six pointer' but this fixture certainly falls into that category. A win for either side here would be a massive boost towards safety, while a defeat would leave them in dire trouble at the wrong end of the league. Neither team are free scoring this season which is why they find themselves where they are, however, Brighton have been performing better of late and I fancy them to nick the points.

Prediction 1-0

West Ham v Arsenal

The Hammers are showing no signs of slowing up at the moment at home where their form has been fantastic all season. They are one of the most well balanced teams in the league and you always know what you are going to get from them. Arsenal may have lost on Thursday night but progression is all that mattered to them before the game. This has the potential to be a very exciting game with lots of good football, and goals too.

Prediction 2-2

Aston Villa v Tottenham

Villa are in desperate need for Jack Grealish to come back - they have not looked anything like the same team since he got injured. Having said that, they are another team who always put in a shift and make life difficult for teams. All I have to say about Spurs is what a disgrace they were on Thursday night. There was no leadership, no life, no spirit and absolutely no quality. After two terrible results this week, Jose needs a win and a big one at that.

Prediction 2-1

Emirates FA Cup Quarter Finals

Bournemouth v Southampton

What a mouth watering tie this is - a South coast derby with a place at Wembley at stake. Bournemouth are the only EFL side left in the competition and should have nothing to fear against their Premier League rivals. They are just outside the play-off places in the Championship and must be dreaming of a promotion and Wembley double. The Saints have performed better in this competition than they have in the league since the turn of the year, but I expect this to be very tight and very difficult to call. However, these are the games where class usually prevails.

Prediction 1-2 AET

Everton v Manchester City

Manchester City look massive favourites here as they continue searching for an unprecedented quadruple. With the league wrapped up and a Carabao Cup final next month, this game could prove pivotal for the rest of the season. Having Sergio Aguero back and on the scoresheet again is a big boost for them. Everton look like they will fall short of the top four this season, but that doesn't mean they can not win this, I just don't think they will.

Prediction 1-3

Chelsea v Sheffield United

Chelsea are looking good for the top four again and are in the Champions League quarter finals against Porto. Tuchel could be turning this into a memorable season for the Blues, although this game should not be taken for granted. Sheffield United might as well throw the kitchen sink, and the bathroom sink, at this game because a day out at Wembley will be the only highlight from an otherwise miserable season. This will be tighter than most people think, but I don't see a shock here.

Prediction 2-0

Leicester v Manchester United

If you had asked me to predict this a month ago, it would be a home banker. Now I am not so sure. Leicester are still without James Maddison and Harvey Barnes who are real threats for them in midfield, although Kelechi Iheanacho's hat-trick last weekend came at the perfect time. United will have travelled back from Milan where, despite the result, they used up a lot of energy in a high intensity game against a very strong AC Milan team. I can't see a lot between these two but I have a feeling United will show up for this one.

Prediction 1-2 AET
