Premier League Matchday 27 Predictions
Burnley v Arsenal
Burnley's result against Leicester in the week was another point and they continue to creep towards the safety mark this season. It's the same issue for them though - they do not score many goals. Arsenal also played Leicester last time out, and after going behind early, played them off the park and fully deserved the win. This will be interesting but I expect the Gunners to come out on top.
Prediction 1-2
Sheffield United v Southampton
Sheffield United's win over Aston Villa last time out was nothing more than a consolation for them, but at least they are still trying and are clearly not going to roll over against anyone. They could win this one too - Southampton should be safe but if their poor run goes on much longer then they could face an uncomfortable end to the season.
Prediction 2-1
Aston Villa v Wolves
Both of these sides have had really good seasons so far, but Villa have suffered lately without Jack Grealish -he is a massive player for them. Wolves are also around the middle of the table but would have wanted to build on their 7th place finish last season. They could still do that, however, they will need to win games against teams around them such as this one.
Prediction 1-1
Brighton v Leicester
Just a month ago I thought the Seagulls were safe for another season, but look at how quickly that has changed. Suddenly they are the team with no momentum as we enter the business end of the season. They face a Leicester side here who have got James Maddison and Harvey Barnes out for a while. Sadly for them, I think this will cost them a place in next season's Champions League.
Prediction 2-1
West Brom v Newcastle
I know a lot of people might not agree with me here, but the Baggies still have a chance to stay up this season, but for me this is an absolutely must win game. A defeat here would make the deficit almost unassailable for them. Newcastle are without Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron for the rest of the month and might continue to be short of attacking threat. West Brom have to take advantage of that.
Prediction 1-1
Liverpool v Fulham
Despite Liverpool's lack of goals recently, they will score a few here because Fulham have to try and win every game from here on in and that will give Salah, Mane and Firmino room to operate in behind. This game will not define whether Fulham survive or not, however, anything they can take from Anfield will go a long way towards helping their cause.
Prediction 3-0
Manchester City v Manchester United
Even the most optimistic Manchester United fan will have to admit that defeat here will mean the title is heading to the blue side of the city once again. United need to start scoring goals - the last couple of games they have played, goalless draws against Chelsea and Crystal Palace, have been boring. There has been such a lack of intensity going forward - it is worrying they are the second best team in the league this season!
Prediction 3-0
Tottenham v Crystal Palace
Spurs are getting the job done at the moment but this will be an interesting assignment for them. Playing Sunday night before a Europa League tie on Thursday is not easy for them, but at least they are at home. Palace frustrated Manchester United last time out but continue to struggle creating chances without Wilfred Zaha. That is something Spurs never have trouble with.
Prediction 2-0
Chelsea v Everton
Chelsea's win at Anfield was a massive result for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea on Thursday night. Not only did they win and keep a clean sheet, but they were the better team throughout the game. I fancy Everton to get something here though. Richarlison's form has helped Everton climb the table again and with other teams around them faltering, they could still make the top 4 this season. A win here would boost their chances massively.
Prediction 1-1
West Ham v Leeds
These are two teams that I have really enjoyed watching this season because of how much they attack and try to win games. West Ham are clearly the more consistent of the sides but I still think they will fall just short of a top 4 finish. Leeds are already safe and can enjoy the rest of the season - the fans certainly will enjoy watching them. As for this game, it is the Hammers who I am backing.
Prediction 2-1
