Premier League Matchday 32 and Carabao Cup Final Predictions

Arsenal v Everton

Everton's season has slipped so much that the Gunners will leapfrog them tonight with a win. Mikel Arteta will want his team to be more ruthless tonight - they should have been out of sight against Fulham last week. Eddie Nketiah got on the scoresheet at a time when Aubameyang and Lacazette are both out of the side; how they would love another one tonight. While Everton still have an outside chance of a top four finish, a defeat here would surely put an end to those.

Prediction 2-1

Liverpool v Newcastle

This is a fixture that Liverpool always seem to win, and they have to win this one to keep pressure on the teams ahead of them. Steve Bruce will be thinking that they have already done enough to secure safety, although a win at Anfield would be a wonderful bonus for them. Jurgen Klopp will be pleased with how his side have improved recently after an awful run of results, and I expect them to continue that good form here.

Prediction 3-0

West Ham v Chelsea

This is a massive London derby which could go a long way to deciding who finishes in the top four. Thomas Tuchel made the grave mistake against West Brom of changing his team before their last Champions League game but I expect no repeat this time. They are not guaranteed to win it and they have to keep themselves at Europe's top table. David Moyes will want a win equally as much, although they both might have to settle for a point.

Prediction 1-1

Sheffield United v Brighton

The Blades are already relegated coming into this one and therefore I do not see this being a classic. I would hope to see at least some fight from the Sheffield United players, but honestly I expect them to just roll over to everyone now. Brighton will want to take advantage of this game to make absolutely sure they stay in the Premier League next season. Graham Potter will be disappointed not to pick up a win here.

Prediction 0-2

Wolves v Burnley

This could have an end of season feel to it where both teams know they are not going anywhere. If that is the case then I would expect Wolves to come out on top because they have better quality all over the pitch. Burnley have been much better this side of Christmas and are now looking to see how high they can finish this season. As I said though, I am backing Wolves.

Prediction 2-1

Leeds v Manchester United

The game when these teams met at Old Trafford was an absolute thriller with Manchester United running out 6-2 winners. While I expect this to have the same level of drama and quality, it will not have as many goals. United's big aim this season will be to ensure they win the Europa League; they face a very good Roma side on Thursday. That might play into Leeds' hands if they make changes, although I think Leeds will get something anyway.

Prediction 2-2

Aston Villa v West Brom

Villa were a little unlucky against Manchester City in the week; after scoring so early they shot themselves in the foot with the red card. Despite that, they will bounce back with a win here. Back-to-back wins had given West Brom some hope, but other results seem to have all but relegated them. Their performance at Leicester on Thursday lacked any fight or belief to get themselves out of a dire situation.

Prediction 2-0

Leicester v Crystal Palace

Although you might say Leicester were only playing West Brom in their last game, every game is massive for them now. They need to put the cup final next month out of their minds and focus on winning enough games to secure a top four finish which they thoroughly deserve. Palace, in all reality, were always going to finish around mid-table this season and it is proven the case once again. I would expect a lack of intensity from them and therefore a Foxes win.

Prediction 2-0

Carabao Cup Final - Manchester City v Tottenham

The build-up to this cup final has been surrounded by Ryan Mason replacing Jose Mourinho as Spurs' manager and the potential absences of Harry Kane and Kevin de Bruyne. Obviously those players are world class and could make the difference, however, both teams are full of world class talent. Manchester City managed a win at Villa Park in their last game; Guardiola himself said how relieved he was to win a game before the final. Ryan Mason needed to wait until a last-minute penalty gave them the win over Southampton in his first game in charge. There is no question that this is a massive ask for a 29 year old manager in just his second ever game to deliver something that Spurs fans have been demanding for so long, although I do not think he will be too worried about this game. All the expectation and pressure is on Pep Guardiola and Manchester City as they try to equal Liverpool's record for four consecutive League Cup victories. Everything is pointing is City's direction, and unfortunately for Tottenham fans, I am going that way as well.

Prediction 3-1
