Premier League Matchday 37 Predictions
Manchester United v Fulham
It is completely understandable that Manchester United have more than one eye on the Europa League final that is coming up, but that does not change the fact they have lost their past two league games at Old Trafford. With fans back in the stadium, I can not see that run continuing. Scott Parker has said numerous times this season that they are unable to compete at this level and this could be another example to prove him right.
Prediction 3-0
Southampton v Leeds
These are two teams who both began the season like a train and looked like exceeding all expectations, but they have gone in very different directions since. The Saints have fallen by the wayside and will be grateful for such a strong start, while Leeds have maintained that run and will finish in the top half on their first season back in the Premier League. That is an outstanding achievement and I fancy them to win this one too.
Prediction 1-2
Brighton v Manchester City
Brighton have been within sight of the relegation zone all season but have never really looked like going down. Their recent run of results is actually quite good, although I think that will end here. City have got two league games to prepare for the Champions League final and I can see them winning them both very comfortably.
Prediction 0-3
Chelsea v Leicester
Something tells me this will be a much better and open game than the cup final was where Youri Tielemans scored the only goal of the game. Chelsea dominated possession, had lots of decent chances and looked in control of the game. For the second game running, however, they could not put the ball in the net. Liverpool's late winner at The Hawthorns means the Blues really need to win this if they are to keep top four hopes in their own hands. The Foxes will be happy with a draw and that is what I think they will get.
Prediction 1-1
Everton v Wolves
Everton's European hopes are all but over after their defeat against Sheffield United at the weekend. Richarlison looked completely out of sorts and Ben Godfrey looked like he was on the beach already by the way he switched off for the winning goal. Wolves have been on the beach for a few weeks themselves and honestly there is not much point to this game because I can't see either team trying to win it.
Prediction 0-0
Newcastle v Sheffield United
Steve Bruce should be very proud of how his side pushed Manchester City all the way last time when they lost a thrilling game 4-3. They should have the better of this game and there's a lot of players who have a point to prove still. Paul Heckingbotham would have been delighted to get his first win as caretaker manager and might well fancy another here.
Prediction 1-1
Tottenham v Aston Villa
The news this week that Harry Kane has asked to leave Spurs in the summer is no major shock and a huge blow to the team and the fans. Without his goals this season they would be in the bottom half without doubt. Aston Villa looked better at Selhurst Park last time out but they still fell to defeat and I think they will suffer another one here.
Prediction 2-1
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Palace were very impressive in their comeback win against Aston Villa at the weekend. Despite that result, I reckon Roy Hodgson's future one way or another has already been decided and they are waiting until the season finishes to make an announcement. Arsenal completed the double over Chelsea last week and I expect them to end the season with another couple of wins - that would be five wins in a row to end a disappointing campaign.
Prediction 1-2
Burnley v Liverpool
It is very unusual for a Sean Dyche team to be ripped apart in a game but Leeds did just that to them at the weekend. They looked clueless going forward and a complete shambles at the back. I expect them to sit deeper here and they should be better organised as a result. Liverpool had Allison to thank at the weekend and they need two more wins to give themselves a chance of making the top four.
Prediction 0-2
West Brom v West Ham
Sam Allardyce must have been in disbelief by what he saw at the weekend. His defence allowed Allison to stroll into the area and head the ball home completely unmarked. It doesn't matter to them though, while West Ham are still trying to get a European place. Even if they just miss out it has still been an amazing season for the. Having said that, I think they will get the points here.
Prediction 1-2
