Premier League Matchday 16 Predictions

Crystal Palace v Leicester Palace will be very disappointed with their recent form. Not only have they conceded ten times in their last two games, but they were well beaten by ten men on Boxing Day. Leicester came from behind twice to earn a draw against Manchester United, and even with the shortest recovery time out of any teams in the league, I expect the Foxes to leave the capital with a win. Prediction 0-2 Chelsea v Aston Villa Chelsea were absolutely shocking at the Emirates on Boxing Day. They were dominated from minute one and looked like a team miles away from winning the league. Villa, despite only having ten men for half the game, took control early and kept their foot on the gas throughout. I have a sneaky feeling Villa will get a result here. Prediction 1-1 Everton v Manchester City The Toffees are loving the festive period this season - four wins in a row and just a single penalty conceded during that run. They face a Manchester City side who, despite having Sergio Aguero ...

Premier League Matchday 15 Predictions

Leicester v Manchester United Leicester picked up a great win at Spurs in their last game and played the way they want to play - on the break. United, though, will want to do exactly that. They are the only team to win every away game this season, and they will be full of confidence after scoring 6 last weekend and reaching the Carabao Cup semi-finals in midweek. They might have to settle for a point here. Prediction 1-1 Aston Villa v Crystal Palace There has been a lot of talk this week about Ross Barkley and how this has to be the season when he shines in the Premier League. He's done OK so far but Villa fans will be wanting more. Palace continue to be an up and down team, but they are usually fairly easy to predict. They win the games you expect and they lose the rest, like this one. Prediction 2-1 Fulham v Southampton Fulham's season had started to look upwards with a couple of wins before Christmas, and suddenly they look like they could possibly stay in the league. The S...

Eat, Drink and Be Merry

Good afternoon and welcome back to this afternoon's blog. I want to start by saying a massive thank you for al the support you have been showing Nuala by reading her interview. It means a lot to both of us. Now, it may not feel like it, but we are just days away from Christmas. What should be a happy time spent with friends and family will be a day spent with the same few who you are with all year round. While this will not become a political blog where I answer the question "Have the Government done the right thing?", it will be one where I look at what can happen, and also what we have to look forward to this time next year. The line "everything will be better by Easter" is being heavily overused for my liking. This is Christmas, though, but what does that mean? Christmas is a major event of the Christian religious calendar whereby we remember all the special times we have experienced over the previous year. It is a time for  giving and sharing gifts, having q...

Premier League Matchday 14 Predictions

Crystal Palace v Liverpool Palace showed a lot of heart against Spurs last weekend, and should have beaten West Ham in midweek. They are not finishing teams off when they are on top. Liverpool will be delighted to have gone top with a win against Spurs during the week, especially when you think that they nearly lost it on a number of occasions. I fancy Palace for a draw here. Prediction 1-1 Southampton v Manchester City The Saints continue to perform well and pick up results, both at home and away. They face a City side here who stumbled against West Brom at home in the week and they will be desperate for a win to keep them within touch of the leaders. Southampton have only lost a handful of games this season, and I don't expect them to lose here. Prediction 1-1 Everton v Arsenal The home side have had a great week so far with wins against Chelsea and Leicester. This in many ways could be their easiest game, however, Arsenal showed a lot of heart and spirit in their midweek draw wi...

Very Special Guest Interview - Nuala

Nuala is a young, exciting musician who has a great passion for the music industry and has a reputation for creating music of the highest quality. Nuala is well travelled having spent a year living in America, and after growing up in Leicester, she is now proud to call London her home. Nuala is very well known in the North London region and is a popular figure on the pubs and clubs’ circuit. As with many up-and-coming artists, this year has been a massive challenge for Nuala with a large number of gigs having been cancelled. There has been a high-class EP which is available to stream on Spotify as well as other major streaming platforms which, take it from me, is well worth the time to listen to.  I would like to once again thank Nuala for taking part in this interview & the lovely conversation that we had over Zoom. The responses to these questions are a combination of Nuala's words and my condensed version of them.  Take us back to the beginning. How did your musi...

Premier League Matchday 13 Predictions

Before I get into my predictions for this special midweek round of Premier League matches, I wanted to give you an update on the outstanding blog featuring the amazing Nuala. Work is continuing to ensure that nothing but the highest quality content is released for your enjoyment. I, along with Nuala, are in constant communication and we hope to have this for you in the very near future. Thank you for your patience. Wolves v Chelsea Both of these teams lost at the weekend, and both were beaten by a penalty in games that they deserved to take something from. It was the first sign of weakness from Chelsea, while Wolves will be desperate o bounce back following their derby defeat against Villa. This game might be a case of not wanting to start a losing streak. Prediction 1-1 Manchester City v West Brom City have certainly looked brighter now that Sergio Aguero has returned. They are playing more fluidly and are continuing to create more chances than the opposition. West Brom, while th...

Premier League Matchday 12 Predictions

Leeds v West Ham I have to admit I did not expect to enjoy watching Leeds, but I am. They are so direct and attack minded which is why they tend to score, and concede, goals. The Hammers are also a team who are very hard to predict, and have largely relied on their defence to keep them in games. I talk about going with your gut feeling in other blogs, and mine says a West Ham win. Prediction 1-2 Wolves v Aston Villa Wolves were well beaten by Liverpool last weekend. They started slowly and lost all shape defensively. That was surprising because they are usually very difficult to play against. Villa have had an extended break, but before that they had lost their early season form. While Villa will be competitive, I don't see them picking up a result. Prediction 2-1  Newcastle v West Brom Newcastle have also had an extended break which might have done them a favour. After a solid opening few games, they have began to slide towards the wrong end of the league. West Brom were well beat...

Moving On

Good afternoon and welcome back to this afternoon's blog. Before I begin, I want to apologise for the delay in getting out the interview I promised you last week. A combination of technical issues and personal agendas has held things up, but I can assure you it will be worth it when it is finished. In the meantime, we have some positive news regarding the Covid vaccine. Hopefully this will be widely available within a few weeks and people can begin to think about going back to normal in the summer. However, that is in the future. Today's topic is all about moving on (hopefully moving on from Covid soon). Moving on can sometimes be very easy or it can be the hardest thing in the world. We need to understand whether moving on is the best thing for ourselves, even if it might not always be what we want. When we think about moving on, we tend to think that we have to do this in a complete manner and one that allows a clean slate for everyone. This is not the case. Moving on is ofte...

Premier League Matchday 11 Predictions

Aston Villa v Newcastle postponed due to Covid 19. Burnley v Everton The hosts are still really struggling with just a single win from their opening 10 games. Their biggest problem is scoring goals, which is not something that Everton struggle with. Despite some patchy form of late, I still think they will have a good season, and would expect them to win this game. Prediction 0-2 Manchester City v Fulham This really does look on paper like a question of how many goals City will score. The game is not played on paper, but Fulham will not shut City out. Their defence is leakier than a sieve at the moment, and just at a time when City are beginning to play freely again. If any of the City strikers are low on confidence, this is the perfect game to change that. Prediction 5-0 West Ham v Manchester United The Hammers are playing well this season and had a very impressive win against Aston Villa on Monday evening. United came from 2 goals down to win last weekend at Southampton before c...
